Wishing prayers to the Poulin family. Heard of your little angels story on TV. Had to look him up and learn of his short but vibrant life here on earth. I too am a brain cancer survivor, and wish nothing but pain free, survivorship. Though diagnosed Jan 2016, it has been a real struggle surviving with all this pain(cognitive, emotionally, physical decline as well). I am praying he felt little to no pain and know is at peace with God. I will have Jacob and his family in my prayers.

Although I never got to meet Jacob our son Zachary loved him very much. Everything I heard and learned about him make me love him. His family is so brave and seeing the anguish on their faces was heartbreaking. Jacob's memory will live on in our household, we pray every night for his family and although we cannot understand it the Lord has called him home. He is with Him.

Steve & Sarah,

When I heard the news, I began earnestly praying. All I heard for days was, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Later, I received news that a dove had landed on your roof. I thought a morning dove was a nice sign from God, that peace will reign over your household. Eventually, someone shared the picture you took of a white dove on your roof, (not a morning dove). Finally, I turned to Matt: 3: 16-17 "When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." I have no doubt, of the eternal love that embraces Jacob now. I know that you know, but let this be another confirmation of dieing with Christ and rising with Christ. Love in Christ, David

I am so saddened to hear about Jacob. I read every post and thought of your family frequently. It sounded like Jacob was truly a fighter, and loved both his parents and little sisters. It sounds like your family is very religious and I'm glad to hear Jacobs faith was so strong and he loved Jesus with all his heart. I so wish I could come Friday or Saturday. You continue to be in my thoughts.

Along with the many strangers you have left feeling your profound sadness, I too wish to express heartfelt sympathy for your loss.
We often wonder why such a beautiful gift is generously given and selfishly taken away. Ours is not to question this deed, but to find peace in our hearts for the cherished moments we shared every day. May his soul find comfort in the arms of the Lord, and may you cherish the memories you made while he was yours for the short time given.
Take heart in knowing strangers feel your sadness.
With sincere sympathy,
a friend

The Poulin family deserves our gratitude for the way they handled this excruciating ordeal with enduring grace. You found a way to include Jacob's extended family and friends throughout Jacob's illness. You kept us informed with the looming challenges and we were buoyed by your faithful optimism. While it will take a while to cope with this tragic loss in our own ways, we will all be better parents, better friends, better brothers and sisters for having experienced it. You have allowed us to come with you on this journey and we all want to lift you up. Thank you for showing us how to navigate our families through a myriad of struggles and the toughest of times and still have the strength to believe that we can come out on the other side.
