Elvira Mary Brunetti, 95, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Sebastian Brunetti, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Daughter of the late Jack Tamburro and Celeste (Macari) Tamburro, Elvira was born in New Castle, PA on January 11, 1922. Elvira was a hardworking woman who retired from the Hartford Steam Boiler in 1985 after more than 40 years of service. She later worked at Stop-n-Shop grocers in Windsor and in the Windsor High School cafeteria. Elvira was a happy and positive person who provided for her family and lovingly raised two of her grandsons. She was a faithful communicant of St. Gertrude Church for over 80 years and will be missed by her parish family. Elvira leaves her daughter, Celeste Brunetti of New Orleans, LA, four grandchildren, Jorge Jimenez, Nick Jimenez, Philip Brunetti, Chelsea Luminais; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sat. Sept. 16, 2017 in St. Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor with interment following in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a worthy charity.
