MARSH. Addison Bliss Marsh, 66, of Suffield, beloved husband of Susan Marie (Brown) Marsh, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born November 14, 1950 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late H. Newman Marsh, Jr. and Marion (Carhart) Marsh. He grew up in New Hartford and New Canaan, CT before moving to Suffield 32 years ago. Addy loved the sea. He was drawn to the water at an early age on Martha's Vineyard at his grandmother's summer home. As an adult he owned the 30-foot Nonsuch "Bliss." On "Bliss" Addy toured all of Southern New England with friends and family, and enjoyed sailing, racing and fishing. He was an ardent supporter of the Nonsuch sailing community. With a treasure box once found, Addy gave love that was unconditional and indiscriminate. Family meant everything to him. The name Bliss was fitting for his boat and his character. An adventurous soul, Addy also loved cars, and collected and raced many unique cars over the years. He also enjoyed skiing, and shared ski vacations with his sons, brothers and friends. He was an avid sports fan, and attended his sons' soccer and basketball games with great enthusiasm. Besides his wife Susan, he is survived by four sons, Addison Bliss Marsh, Jr. and Arielle Young of Suffield, Nathaniel Chapin Marsh and his wife, Angela of Gilford, NH, Matthew Baker and his wife, Jackie of West Suffield, Keegan Delk and his wife, Fawn of Oskaloosa, KS; two brothers, Harold Newman Marsh, III and his wife, April Eberhardt of Sonoma, CA, Frederick Marsh and his wife, Karyn Bailey of Middletown; two sisters, Meredith Tiedemann and her husband, Tom of Salisbury; Mandana Marsh Szkotak of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Steve Szkotak. His family will receive friends Monday, May 22, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Suffield Congregational Church, P.O. Box 26, West Suffield, CT 06093 or to The American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St - I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
