Beverly A. Hall, 76, of Gwynn Oak, Md, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Md. She was born in Hartford to Fannie Irene Pittman and the late Leroy Shephard (Melvia). Raised in Hartford, she graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1959 and became a resident of Gwynn Oak in 1968. Enlisting in the US Army, Beverly faithfully and honorably served her country during the Vietnam War and continued her service in the US Army Reserves for 28 years achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. She received her Bachelor's degree from Coppin State University and later earned her Master's degree in Administration Science from Johns Hopkins University. She retired from Verizon, formerly Ma Bell and AT&T, after 40 years as an Administration Manager. During retirement she served as a substitute teacher at Woodmoor Elementary School. Beverly enjoyed collecting antiques, crafting ceramics and macrame', and recently became a talented piano player. She was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. A truly exceptional and inspirational woman, she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her mother Fannie, sister Kimberly Sales (Raymond), brother Kyle Lopes (Sandra), niece Nykesha Sales, nephew Brooks Sales, Aunt Jessie Willis, cousins Jeffrey Owens, Raleen Owens, Martin Bentivengo, Sherese Valico, Sherena Valico and many more relatives and friends, including her dear friend Kathy. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 17 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial with military honors will take place on Monday, June 19 at 11 AM in CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
