Elinor (Schnitzer) Boardman was born October 10, 1926 to the late Charles and Marjorie Schnitzer and departed this earth on April 9, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Irving M. Boardman in 1979. She leaves her two surviving daughters Jane (Boardman) Banks (Luis Torres) of Bloomfield, and Carol Boardman-Scruse (Troy Scruse) of Bloomfield. Five Grandchildren: Jason (Taneka) Thurston of Bloomfield, Vanessa Banks of Wethersfield, Andrew Banks of Bloomfield, Troya Scruse of East Hartford, and Matthew Banks of Bloomfield. Five Great Grandchildren: Jordan Thurston, Jason Thurston Jr., Nyasia Thomas, Asher McNamee, and Andrew Banks Jr. Elinor was known as Mrs. Boardman, Ma, or Grandma. She was a kind, caring, and sensitive woman that had love to give everyone. Not only was she a mother/grandmother to her family she was one for the community. She worked as a cafeteria substitute for the Bloomfield School System until she retired. When she wasn’t working she was home enjoying her television, telephone, and her family. She will be truly missed. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 20 at The Lodge, 130 Deerfield Rd Windsor. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be private.
