Helen G. (Malone) Pierce, 90, of Bloomfield, CT and formerly of West Hartford, CT died on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Helen was born on March 27, 1927 in Chelsea, MA where she attended St Rose Catholic School. She worked as a registered nurse at several hospitals and as a school nurse in West Hartford, CT and Garden City, NY. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Leon R. Pierce, Jr. (PhD); her six children: Thomas (Dawn) of Marblehead, MA, Susan of Durham, NC, Molly Healey (Thomas) of Mineola, NY, Dana (Mary) of Trumbull, CT, Leon III (Lauren) of Hopewell Junction, NY and Sean of New York, NY; seven grandchildren: Taylor Pierce, Brendan Healey, Liam Pierce, Matthew Healey, Jack Pierce, Bridget Healey and Maggie Pierce and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: John Malone, James Malone, William Malone and Mary Crowley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, CT. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral mass from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, CT 06002. Carmon Funeral Home, is handling all arrangements.
