Mildred Dougall, 54, known to family and friends as Annie, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on Friday March 2, 2018. She was a quiet, loving and caring person, and always had a winning smile. She was born in Agricola, Guyana on November 14, 1963. She was the daughter of Myrna Caines and James Allen. Mildred attended Methodist School, Coven Garden School and Allen High School. She immigrated to the USA with her daughter LaShawn in 1992 to join her husband Denis and resided in East Hartford until her passing. She attended Capital Community College in the early 2000s for Early Childhood Education. Anita worked for the Hartford School system briefly. She was involved with the Family Resource Center at Annie Fisher Elementary School. Prior to her ill health, she worked at The Goddard School in Glastonbury, where she was loved and appreciated by the staff and parents of the children that she took care of. Beside her husband Denis, she leaves behind her daughter LaShawn and husband Donald, grandchildren Mckenzie and Anthony, her daughter Leone (Tracy), her brothers Tony and Lindon of Guyana, her cousins Desiree Bailey, Freddie Eastman, Gloria Sandy, Joan Monroe, father-in-law Charles Dougall, brother-in-law Charles Dougall Jr. and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, father, sister, niece and her brother-in-law, Anthony Dougall. She will be missed dearly. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Calvary Church, 1855 Albany Ave., West Hartford, CT 06117 with viewing from 8-9:30 a.m. and a homegoing service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow the service in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Carmon Funeral Home of Windsor has care of her arrangements.
