Robert (Bob) F. Gemme, 81, of Avon, beloved husband of Gail T. (Brooks) Gemme, passed away March 1, 2018. Born in Hartford, son of the late Emmet Gemme Sr. and Mary (Hannon) Gemme; he was raised in East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School. Bob was the owner and operator of Gem Mayflower Moving & Storage Company until 1983, after which he began a second career in commercial real estate and development. He was a member of the Hartford Jaycees and the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors. Bob was an avid reader, he also enjoyed downhill skiing and tennis. His greatest joys were spending time with his family and attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons; Steven Gemme of Avon, Brian Gemme and his wife Lynn of Chester and Curtis Gemme of Avon, he also leaves his seven grandchildren; Brittany, Tyler, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Ryan, Cassidy and Charlie. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at The Club House at Peachtree Village, 50 Darling Drive in Avon from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center of Avon is handling arrangements.
