Shannette Ann Washington, 29, of Roxbury, MA and formerly of Manchester CT, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 14, 2016, at Boston Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 13, 1987, beloved daughter of Basil and Annette Washington, she was raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Connecticut with her family as a young girl. For the last four years Shannette had lived in the Boston, MA area, the city of Boston just like Brooklyn NY was a place she truly loved and enjoyed. Shannette was a graduate of the Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford and she later continued her education receiving an associate degree from Manchester Community College and then received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University. Most recently, Shannette worked in research data entry at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA. Shannette was very passionate about music and Broadway musicals and she really loved to entertain her family and friends. Her favorite play was "Wicked" and she would often sing and listen to the songs from the musical throughout her day. She leaves to mourn her passing her parents, Basil and Annette Washington of CT; her paternal grandmother, Paulette Washington of CT; her paternal grandfather, Basil Washington of MA; her maternal grandfather, Lloyd Abrahams and his wife Eloise of FL; five uncles: Dwight Washington and his wife Leslie, Luke, Lloyd Jr., & Mickel (Abrahams), and Howard Swearing; eight aunts: Stacy Washington, Rosalee Smile, Sharon Jenkins and her husband Trent, Diane & Susan Abrahams, Deon Guyah and her husband Derrick, Evanne McKoy, and Phillippa Mills; four grand uncles: Vincent Gordon, Aubrey, Noel & Bunny (Knibb); 12 grand aunts: Dorritte Tyrell and her husband Mike, Pauline Duncan, Jean Morrison, Marva Brissett and her husband Leslie , Judith Conover and her husband James, Paula Willard and her husband William, Jacqueline Morrison, Fay Thomas and her husband Frederick, Cecile & Sheila Washington, Marcia Ankri and her husband Elisha and Cutie Knibb; her godmothers: Karen Tyrrell ( cousin) and Ann Marie Weeks; Cousins: Kay-Ann Scott, DeShawn DePriest, Shaari, Tresha, & Brice (Jenkins), Anthony, Aaliyahna & Aedan (Washington), Jordan, Omar & Kaelah (McKoy), Emma Hamilton, Paul, Richard & Dwayne (Tyrrell), Flavia, Kerry-Ann & Kareem (Guyah), Alexander Morrison, Robert, Andrew & Leslie (Brissett), Lloyd Burrell, Selina Williams, Gyasi Abner, Keisha Hunte, Derrick & David Thomas, Annie, Nancy, Donald & Tommy (Anglin), Kevin Myers, Ricardo Fearon, Tanya & Tanisha Williams ; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends in Jamaica, Canada, England, and the United States. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 5-8 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. A Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
